Tools FAQ

Free Investing Tools: Common Questions

What are the best free investing tools for beginners?

Start with three. The Compound Interest Calculator shows what regular investing could grow into. The US Stock Screener turns thousands of stocks into a shortlist to research. The AI Fundamental Analysis Tool explains a company's numbers in simple terms. If you are brand new, take Lesson 1 of the free course first. It takes about 10 minutes.

Are StockEducation's investing tools really free?

Yes. Every tool on this page is free to use, with no card. Some AI tools have a daily allowance, shown on each card. StockEducation is funded by its operator, Stock Education Publishing Pty Ltd, and does not currently take money from brokers, investing platforms or other financial product providers.

Do I need an account to use the tools?

Not for most of them. Calculators, guides, visual lessons and the glossary open right away, and AI tools give guests a daily allowance. You need a free account for the $1M simulator and the course quizzes, and it also saves your course progress and quiz scores.

Where does the data in these tools come from?

It depends on the tool. AI tools that read company filings use official SEC EDGAR data, market tools use the data providers named on each tool, and calculators use the numbers you type in. Some market data is delayed, so check the source and time shown before you rely on a figure.

How do I research a stock for free?

Use four free tools in order. Make a shortlist with the US Stock Screener, open one company in Free Stock Charts to see its price history, ask the AI Fundamental Analysis Tool to explain its numbers, then check the next results date in the Earnings Calendar. The free course explains each step.

Do the tools come with instructions?

Yes. Every tool comes with written, step by step instructions and a short video guide. New to investing? Lesson 1 of the free course explains the basics in about 10 minutes, and the glossary explains any word you do not know.

Can these tools tell me which stocks to buy?

No. The tools help you learn and research, and they never give buy or sell recommendations. A screen result, an AI explanation or a calculator estimate is a starting point for your own research, not advice. For personal advice, speak to a licensed financial adviser in your country.

How is StockEducation different from Yahoo Finance or a broker app?

Those sites are built for people who already know what the numbers mean. StockEducation is built for learners: each tool explains what it shows and what it cannot tell you, and free lessons sit right beside the tools. There are no affiliate links or paid placements.

Which tool should I use for my question?

Match the tool to the question. Confused by a company's numbers? Use the AI Fundamental Analysis Tool. Looking for stocks to research? Use the US Stock Screener. Wondering what regular investing becomes? Use the Compound Interest Calculator. Want to know if a company's debt is high? Use the Leverage Calculator.

Is it safe to enter my details into these tools?

Only enter public information. Tickers, public company data and example numbers are all these tools need. Never enter account numbers, broker logins, passwords, tax or government ID numbers, or private financial records into any online tool.
